Our 128 bed LTC home in the heart of Cornwall is looking for a cook(s) to complement our dietary team. Competitive wages in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities
• meal preparation
• Assist in food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes according to established standards.
• Cook menu items accurately and consistently, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
• Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety regulations.
• Sanitary Maintenance
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including counters, utensils, and cooking equipment, adhering to health regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
• Assist with deliveries

Skills
• Proven experience in food service, restaurant or other LTC home environment with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to serve guests with professionalism, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
• Familiarity with cooking methods, meal preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within the team.

• Grade 12 diploma
• a current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Negative VSS
Pay: From $21.36 per hour
