The YMCA of Central East Ontario operates out of three major Health, Fitness and Recreation facilities as well as approximately 20 community locations. POSITION SUMMARY:
RECE's will work Monday to Friday between 37.5-40 hours per week. Shifts will be between 7:00am - 6:00pm. You will work in one of three Childcare centres with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. Locations are YMCA of CEO Belleville Branch, East hill Childcare Centre and St Joseph's Childcare centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum is followed and all standards are exceeded with respect to quality assurance and guidelines. (training will be provided)
• Incorporate learning experiences designed to meet the individual needs of the children, using a variety of teaching techniques.
• Establish and maintain positive daily communication with children, families, YMCA staff and community contacts.
• Act as a professional role model for children, volunteers, students and fellow staff members.
• Work together as an integral part of a team that meets the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of all children in the childcare program.
• Participate in all YMCA trainings, meetings and childcare events.
• Provide positive social experiences including sharing, cooperate on and role modeling the YMCA core Values- Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Inclusiveness and Kindness.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION
• Early Childhood Education Diploma (RECE)
• Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Experience working with infants, toddlers and preschool age children
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and requirements
• Knowledge of YMCA ?Playing to Learn? is an asset
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
• Up to date immunization records

EXPERIENCE:
• Successful candidates will be a Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing with the College of ECEs and have experience working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers in licensed childcare settings through work or placement.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Staff will work in one of three locations in the Belleville area
• Staff are expected to have reliable transportation to and from work
• They will build relationships with school staff and other community partners
• May be required to work at various programs depending on the program needs
