Summary
The Teacher Assistant helps the ECE/Teachers in the classroom to plan activities, to keep all the classroom materials in good condition: organized and clean, and to supervise children guaranteeing their safety and well-being.
Main responsibilities
· Follow and implement all center's policies and procedures
· Participate in mentoring and training students
· Supervise children to guarantee their safety and well-being
· Assist in planning experiences that support intellectual, physical, social and emotional development and learning through play exploration and inquiry
· Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
· Role model appropriate behaviour
· Maintain clear and concise reporting of accidents, injuries, illnesses, as well as conducting health checks of children
· Ensures toys and equipment used in activities are maintained in a safe clean condition and kept in a good state of repair.
· Provide guidance and ensure correct use of the materials
· Assist with light cleaning
· Maintains regular communication with parents
· Participate in meetings as requested
· Maintain records (daily log, check lists, Hi Mama reports, etc.)
