The Office includes the Public Prosecution Services Branch.What you will doLegal Assistants are a vital part of the Public Prosecution Services and play an important role in supporting an efficient and impartial justice system in New Brunswick. They work directly with the Crown Prosecutors and are responsible for the management of investigative files within their respective Regional Office. Your work assignment includes the following responsibilities:Preparing and reviewing correspondence, court briefs, reports and court orders.Preparing the affidavits of service.Coordinating the service of court documents in accordance with the Rules of court.Managing the regional office, including responding to inquiries, managing the file management system, handling all aspects of disclosure requests including tracking them, maintaining office equipment, and other related duties as may be assigned.Work will involve face to face and telephone communication with lawyers, police, witnesses, victims, accused persons and government agencies.
