<p><strong>Warehouse/Yard Supervisor <br>Sudbury, ON <br>Permanent, Full-Time</strong></p><p><strong>Reference Number: CAN-AB-CAL-054-010425</strong></p><p></p><h3>SUMMARY</h3><p>Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, the Warehouse/Yard Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the warehouse and warehouse staff in the areas of order picking, shipping, load planning, receiving, warehouse optimization, and workplace safety.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h3>EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS</h3><p><strong>Warehouse Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain an efficient and safe warehouse while meeting customer service levels and achieving inventory integrity.</li><li>Plan and oversee the flow of products, inbound and out, to ensure cost-effective movement while meeting customer expectations and company standards.</li><li>Ensure order picking and shipping levels are sufficient, and inventory discrepancies are at a minimum for customers to receive complete orders, in perfect condition, with on-time deliveries.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety regulations and Corporate safety guidelines.</li><li>On an ongoing basis, work with the Branch Supervisor to review and improve operating procedures to achieve customer service levels, warehouse safety, cleanliness, and capacity issues.</li><li>Manage all operational equipment, maximizing efficiency and ensuring good fleet maintenance following company standards.</li><li>Responsible for maintenance, upkeep, and security of the warehouse.</li><li>Review invoices, orders, vacation schedules, and demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and maintain appropriate staffing levels.</li><li>Investigate and resolve external and internal customer issues and complaints in a timely manner.</li><li>Communicate and implement company policies and standard operating procedures as required.</li><li>Work with purchasing staff to identify and correct inventory accuracy issues.<br></li></ul><p><strong>Staff Management</strong></p><ul><li>Supervise a team of up to 3 warehouse employees.</li></ul><ul><li>Create and maintain a positive work environment and a team atmosphere.</li><li>Create work schedules, assign tasks to warehouse staff, and manage labour costs such as overtime.</li><li>Coordinate job training and safety training for applicable employees.</li><li>Apply the required discipline to bring performance or behaviours to expected levels.</li><li>Conduct yearly Employee Performance Reviews and mid-year Performance Discussions with applicable staff.</li><li>Address employee issues fairly and consistently.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><h3>EXPERIENCE</h3><ul><li><strong>Minimum three years? experience </strong>supervising up to 3 warehouse employees, preferably in a distribution center environment.<br></li></ul><h3>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</h3><ul><li>Building material experience an asset</li><li>Knowledge of principles and procedures for excellent customer service, hiring, training, motivating, and developing staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance</li><li>Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations</li><li>Proven experience in coaching and training staff</li><li>Excellent organizational and team-building skills</li><li>Ability to clearly communicate with internal and external parties in a professional and courteous manner</li><li>Able to prioritize, problem-solve and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Good computer skills with demonstrated proficiency with Word, Excel, and ERP systems<br></li></ul><h3>EDUCATION</h3><ul><li>High school graduation or GED</li><li>Post-secondary education is desirable.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><h3><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</strong></h3><ul><li>The typical hiring range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 annually.
