Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting principles, financial software, and a comprehensive understanding of both corporate and non-profit accounting environments. This role involves managing complex bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The Senior Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor and customer account management
• Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper recording of debits & credits in accordance with double-entry bookkeeping principles
• Prepare financial reports, including financial statement writing and analysis for management review
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards where applicable
• Handle payroll processing and related tax filings with accuracy and timeliness
• Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial software tools to streamline bookkeeping processes
• Support internal audits and assist external auditors during financial reviews or audits
• Maintain detailed documentation of all accounting transactions to support transparency and audit readiness

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper with a strong background in corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting environments
• Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and other relevant financial tools
• Solid understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
• Experience with governmental accounting standards is a plus
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as account reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, payroll processing, and tax compliance
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred
• Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately and communicate findings clearly through written reports
• Knowledge of accounts payable & receivable processes, payroll management, and tax experience is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
