Medical Office Administrator for New Surgical Practice Job Description: Dr. Thomas Southall, located in Moncton, NB, is seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Administrator to join his team. If you consider yourself a strong communicator who is organized and compassionate this may be the perfect opportunity for you!Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:Greet, register, and coordinates patient care through the clinic.Answers inquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.Processes faxes electronically.Prepares and processes clinical mail.Manages and maintains appointment schedule and incoming/outgoing communications.Maintains electronic medical records via CHR software for scheduling, invoicing, and billing.Ensure all medical tests, referrals to other healthcare professionals, or other requested practice documents are arranged as requested by the physician.Ensures exam rooms are stocked appropriately and orders / receive supplies.Ensures patient confidentiality.Performs all other related administrative support as required by the physician.Experience/Education required:Medical office administration diploma or equivalent education/experience.Experience managing referrals / specialist consultations in a medical clinic setting.Experience using electronic collaborative health record (CHR) software is an asset.Familiarity with medical terminology, New Brunswick Medicare, and non-insured billing processes is considered an asset.Qualifications:Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, typing, and basic troubleshooting (i.e. computer, printer, fax machine, scanner problems).Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy clinical environment.Self-motivated individual who works well independently and as a team.Demonstrates excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.Exhibit compassion and patience.Contribute to a culture of problem solving, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.Due to operational needs, proficiency in English is required, proficiency in French is considered an asset.Working Conditions & Location:This is a salaried position and requires availability to work from Monday to Friday. This schedule excludes evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.The successful candidate will be expected to primarily work on-site. Occasional remote work may be available based on staffing and operational needs.
