Date: Open until filled.Job SummaryDomestic Workers ensure the facilities are maintained in a safe, clean and aseptic condition. This primarily includes scrubbing and refinishing floors, cleaning and disinfecting patient and public areas, operating housekeeping equipment and machinery and general office cleaning as required.
Duties also include: ensuring the security of the building as it relates to fire control, safe egress and access and the security of residents, minor maintenance functions, grounds care and snow clearing, retrieval and storage of facility refuse, reception and storage of daily supplies, driving residents to and from functions, appointments, etc., collection of soiled linen and distribution of clean linen supplies.Job DemandsBy applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Regularly lifts/moves objects/supplies between 10-25 lbs., and occasionally between 22 - 44 lbs.Regularly uses body movement to bend, crouch, kneel and reach, as well as frequent standing/walking and firm grasping.Uses, pushes and pulls with medium forces with firm grasping automatic and manual cleaning equipment.Regularly completes repetitive tasks requiring attentiveness and alertness when handling various chemicals used for cleaning.Job QualificationsPost-secondary training in a trades-related field is required.Knowledge of minor building maintenance is required.A valid class 04 driver's license is required or willing to obtain within six (6) months.A satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required.Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively.Demonstrated strong customer service skills.A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
