Automotive Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team here at Gearup Customs in Prince Rupert, BC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in automotive repair. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, has excellent customer service skills, and is capable of performing various tasks related to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Duties
• Perform diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Assemble and disassemble vehicle components using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain and repair automotive systems including brakes, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Weld components as needed to ensure vehicle integrity and safety.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive problems.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and required services.
• Assist in heavy lifting of automotive parts and equipment during repairs.
• Keep work area organized, clean, and safe at all times.

Experience
• Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair.
• Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with automotive repair.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
